Introducing LG Skycharger, a quick and secure place to charge mobile phones made by most major manufacturers, outdoors, while away from traditional power sources. The very first charger of its kind, this self-sustaining, freestanding, mobile phone charging station runs on wind and solar power.
LG Skycharger provides a peak power of 1.8 Kw, is capable of charging 104 phones an hour, and stores the unused energy in a battery bank. The station also offers an informational panel with a weather report and gauge of the power generated and consumed within the station.
LG Skycharger made its U.S. debut at CES 2009, charging thousands of mobile phones for free over the course of the four-day tradeshow. If you were not able to get to the CES show, LG Skycharger will be available at other upcoming events.
